Hey everyone! I just wanted to start off this blog with a little Christmas post! Just wanted to share some of the amazing things I received this year from family/friends.
The first major thing I got this year was a Dyson Ball Compact! Now, I know what you are probably thinking. Who gets excited about a vacuum?! Trust me, going from a cheap Dirt Devil to this majestic beauty is one of the most amazing things in the world. Now, I knew I was getting this, because my mom and I talked about it when Black Friday rolled around. Dyson had a huge sale on their vacuums, and my mom could not pass up the opportunity to get me something nice that I will use for the rest of my life. Especially since I own a dog, there is always dog hair all over the place, and this vacuum is just the thing I need to get it sucked up!
The other very amazing gift I received this year was a 5 galloon beer brewing starter kit. I am just going to let everyone know from the get go that I LOVE beer. Not just drinking it and getting drunk off of it, but I love to drink and compare all of the beers I get. I am not a beer snob, if that is what you are thinking. I will still drink a Michelob Golden Draft Light every now and again, but if I am buying a beer, I would like to enjoy what I buy. Last year, a friend of mine received a beer brewing kit from his brother. We brewed a few different batches together, and I really enjoyed drinking the end result and thinking “I made this”. Naturally, I became curious and wanted to dive into it, and I am very excited to be starting the process. There will definitely be a future post about my first brewing adventure, once I get it under way.
I received a few shirts as well, along with some steak knives, wine glasses, a spoon rest, and a 9×13 glass dish, all of which are things that I asked for. I also got 2 seasons of Supernatural on DVD. Supernatural is one of my favorite shows, along with Game of Thrones. You will soon come to find out that I have a very extensive disc collection. DVDs and Vinyls are my main collection, but I also love CDs. Another post will feature an extensive look into my collections.
Most years, my immediate family gets together with my mom’s side for a get together. We don’t go to my dad’s side as often, because there are way too many people there, since my dad is 1 of 12 siblings. It was just to chaotic all of the time. We always end up getting a small gift bag from my grandma, filled with a random assortment of goodies. My favorite part of the gift I get from my grandma is the annual calendar she makes. It has all of our birthdays, and all of the anniversaries in it, so you could never forget. It also features a collage of pictures of the people who have birthdays/anniversaries that month. My grandma always finds gems to put in the calendar, and we all go through it together and laugh.
The last Christmas event that I went to was the first annual Friendsmas my friends and I did. We decided to just meet up at a friends house, and hang out together for some Christmasy festivities. We did not specifically say to give gifts, but most of us had purchased the other’s gifts. We also played a game with dice that involved bottles of booze, and everyone took home something, which was really fun. My friends and I went to school together for music, so we got super close through that. We also are all currently music teachers, which is also pretty awesome that we could all find jobs. We all have jobs that are pretty scattered, location wise, so we do not get to see each other as often as we would like to, which was why Friendsmas was so important this year. Hopefully, it can become a yearly thing for us.
Those are the main things that I got this year that I wanted to talk about! Many of my posts will be wordy like this one, with different sort of themes in each one. I will go through some crochet patterns that I have come up with, take you through the beer brewing process, and talk about some of my monthly favorite things! So, expect a lot of different things! I hope you have an awesome week, and I hope you see what I have got for you next week!
