Hey there! In this weeks post, I am going to go through my favorite YouTubers, and discuss some of their content. I am going to go chronologically from when I first started watching YouTubers, to some recent people I have started to follow. I am not a YouTube expert by any means, and this is all based on my own opinion, so just hear me out. I will leave a link for every person I talk about, so if you are curious about them, head over and watch some of their videos. Give them some love for the awesome content they create.
When I was in high school, people didn’t just sit and watch YouTube like we do today. Netflix was still only in DVD form, which was tragic, since my family would not sign up for it. Now a days, people don’t need to go far to find some awesome content to watch from the comfort of their own home. The person who got me hooked into YouTube was Mitchell Davis, or LiveLavaLive. He started YouTube back in 2007, and made some really awesome content. His videos are mainly sketch like, but also with some question videos thrown in. He is mainly just there to create content that he enjoys to create, and I also enjoy watching it. One of my favorite videos from his early days is called North to Alaska. It may not seem like much, but I just love it. How random it is, and how much Mitchell really gets into it, just portrays what his whole channel is like. His more popular videos are his Party Music videos. Again, just some random content, that many people can agree with. Now, he is busy with a lot of directing projects, so he does not post as much content, but I still enjoy his videos now and then.
Probably the next person on my list would have to be the one and only, Jenna Marbles. I did not start watching her videos until later, and I mainly watched them when I was in college. She just has the weirdest, but also the most honest content I have truly scene. I never know what to expect when she posts a video. It always seems to brighten my day, no matter how ridiculous it may seem. One of my favorite videos of hers would have to be How To Care For Your Cermet. Now if you know me pretty well, I do use the Cermet voice from that video a lot. I am a massive dog lover, and this video just fits in my life. I also love What Are This. It just perfectly fits what dogs do, and makes me laugh every time, even though it is ridiculous.
Tyler Oakley is the next contender on my list. A lot of his content is collabs, which entail him get together with another YouTuber and doing something ridiculous, but he also has a lot of question videos, and real talk videos. With Tyler, I just love what he has to say, and I also enjoy the sound of his voice. He is real about what he has to say, and he doesn’t give you any bull shit. I am not hugely political myself, but he has a lot to say on that matter, if you want to hear his opinion. I am also obsessed with his book Binge, which is an autobiography he wrote. What is even better is that the audiobook is him reading it, so you get to hear exactly how he would tell the stories, and react to what he is telling. He is a pretty amazing guy, with a lot of glorious and juicy content.
Now with Tyler’s collabs that he has done, which have mainly been in August, or Auguest as he would call it, he would team up with YouTubers from all over the world. This leads to one of my all time favorite YouTubers, Zoella. They did some Disney collabs together, and I just loved how funny she was, but also her British accent was awesome to listen to. Zoella is a beauty/fashion/baking/homewares creator, and I have turned to her videos many times to try and recreate a makeup look. One of my favorite things that she did for the past 2 years was 24 days of Zoella. She did a Christmas themed video every day of December, all the way up to Christmas Eve. I love Christmas, and it was awesome to see some of the ideas she has for the holiday season. She is so bubbly, and she is also very real with her viewers. I always look forward to Sundays, so I can see what new makeup look I want to try, or things I might think about buying myself. She also has a vlog channel, and I only really watch it during Vlogmas, where YouTubers vlog everyday during December.
I can’t talk about Zoella, or Zoe Sugg, without talking about her younger brother, Joe Sugg, or Thatcher Joe as he is known on YouTube. They do a lot of collabs together, and I just thought I would check out some of his other content. He does a lot of challenge videos, and also a lot of prank videos. He is hilarious to watch! He also posts videos on Sundays, and I always look forward to seeing what he is going to do this time to make me laugh. One of my favorite videos that he does is Singing Impressions. It is really comical, and I love how great his impressions are.
Olan Rogers had one video that really got me hooked into his channel, and that is Ghost in the Stalls. He tells some amazingly hilarious stories, and I have definitely sat and watch them all in one sitting. There are such honest stories, and it is like you are sitting with one of your good friends, just chatting about some good childhood stories. He has a lot of shorts that he creates, which are also very good. One of his shorts, Final Space, is now being turned into an animated TV show. He has some really great content, and you should definitely check him out if you are in for some good stories.
You may recognize the next two YouTubers from the A cappella group, Pentatonix. Mitch and Scott used some of their fame from Pentatonix to start their own YouTube channel, with the name Superfruit. They do a lot of question videos, and also some ridiculous challenges. They just have an all around good time, and include their viewers in the fun. one of my favorite things that they do is talk about their weekly obsessions, and also give us their favorite song from that week. I love going out and finding new music to listen to, so having them give me a song to go check out is really awesome. The have done collabs with other YouTubers like Jenna Marbles and Tyler Oakley, and those are hilarious as well. If you want to see the other side of Pentatonix, you gotta check them out.
When I started really getting into YouTube, I did not consider myself to be a gamer per say. I mean sure I really liked video games and found them enjoyable, but I didn’t think watching them being played would be entertaining. That was something my brother always forced me to do when we were younger, and I always found it very boring. But then one of my college roommates introduced me to Markiplier, and everything changed. Markiplier does Let’s Plays, which are videos of him playing video games, and throwing in his own commentary. He is one of the funniest people I have ever watched, and watching him really made me realize how much I love video games and the whole gaming community. He also has a deep love for his fans, which is an awesome thing to see. Sure, some of his videos can be very immature, but I still find myself laughing at them anyway. He has also had some really great advice that has really stuck with me, especially when I thought I wasn’t headed in the right direction. Markiplier has made me feel more comfortable with who I am, and I am very thankful that I found his channel.
Now I can’t talk about Markiplier and not talk about Game Grumps.Mark brings them up in a lot of his videos, and I thought I would check them out. Little did I know that I would instantly become obsessed! Game Grumps is made up of 6 different Youtubers, each with different little segments within Game Grumps. Danny and Arin do the main Game Grumps show. Ross, Barry, Brian, and Suzy do Steam Train and Grumpcade. I normally only watch the Game Grumps episodes, unless I am intrigued by one of the games being played on some of the other parts. Arin and Danny are two of the most hilarious guys I have listened to. I could sit and listen to their game play for hours on end, which is something I have done. Not to mention I find Danny super attractive, but that is beside the point. They crack some of the best jokes, and I really enjoy the games that they play. I even went and saw them do a live performance back in December. It was awesome being in the same room with a bunch of people that had the same love for the Grumps that I do. If you are also interested in some video game comedy music, you can check out the band Starbomb, which is Danny, Arin, and Brian. Danny and Brian also have a band called Ninja Sex Party, and they do comedic songs, but also have a cover album, which is one of my personal favs.
I apologize for the wordy post, but I really just have a love for YouTube right at the moment. The creators on YouTube are some amazing people, and I respect them so much for what they do. If you are curious about any of the YouTubers I mentioned, you can click on any of the blue links throughout this post, and it will take you right to their channel. If some of your favorite YouTubers didn’t make it onto my list, please leave a comment with a link to their YouTube channel. I am always open to finding more content to watch!
Thank you so much for reading this week!I hope you have another awesome week, and I hope you see what I have got for you next week!
