Hey there! I know I promised that my blog post would have been yesterday, but I was so tired after a long weekend of traveling, that I was not in the mind set to write. Speaking of traveling, I went to Duluth on Friday, and whenever I am in Duluth, I have to stop at the Electric Fetus to check out their used record selection. I always seem to find some really awesome finds that I can add to my collection. Without further ado, I will chat you through what I picked up, and how much I got it for.
Little Queen: Heart
I am a huge Heart fan, and when I saw this album and the price, I assumed that something was wrong with it. Now, I have not listened to it yet, but I looked at the quality, and it looks alright. I could not believe it was 99 cents, and I am happy that I found it. I just love the sound of Heart, and how it is run by two women. They are amazing musicians, and I am glad that I could add this to my collection.
M.U. – The Best of Jethro Tull
I am a massive Jethro Tull fan, and even though I have a lot of Jethro Tull anyway, I thought it would be awesome to have a best of album to enjoy in my spare time. Especially when it was only $2.99. I love how they make the flute sound like such a bad ass instrument. I know a few of the songs on here, some I am excited to learn to love the others as well. Pretty pumped about this find.
Hello, I Must Be Going! Phil Collins
This is a Phil Collins album that I have never heard of. I love all of his other albums, and so I was curious to check it out. Especially being only $2.99, that helps a little bit. Phil Collins makes a great album, because his songs really flow into each other. I have not been disappointed by a Phil Collins album yet, and hopefully this is not the first one where I feel that way. I am very excited to get some time to listen through this one.
I have only heard one other Yes album, and I really enjoyed it. The friend I was with told me to pick up this album, so I had to listen to his advice and get it. This was the most expensive one I picked up, being only $3.99. I love their other songs, so I hope to like this album as well. This is one that I will definitely be listening to soon.
Piano Man: Billy Joel
Another great artist to add to my list, I have a lot of other Billy Joel albums. Even though Piano Man is an over played song, I do still enjoy it. I have heard half of the songs on this album, and I have really enjoyed them. I may be trading this album with the friend I was with, since he picked up one that he already had and that I don’t have. I don’t mind though, because he is a bigger Billy Joel fan than I am. For only $2.99, it is not too bad of a trade.
My grand total for this entire trip, with tax, was $15.12, which is probably one of the cheapest record store hauls I have ever had. I did only buy used records this go around, which may have helped with the cost. I can definitely give a review of each of these albums, if anyone is interested. It would be a cool post to write about my first experiences with each album. Let me know if that is something you would be interested in. Also, let me know if any of these albums are your favorites. I hope everyone is having a great week so far, and I will hopefully see you on Sunday for a new blog post. Trying to back to my regular blog day!
