Hey there! I know, I said I would try and post weekly. School cam up too fast for me, and I just didn’t have any ideas, that I really wanted to share. I went through my photos that I have taken with my Nikon CoolPix recently, and I wanted to share them with you. I will chat about the photos a little bit, and give you a general idea of why they were taken. They will go oldest to newest, so here we go!
My brother’s dog, Ole(right), and my brother and his girlfriend’s foster dog, Sobie(left), came with us to the Lumberjack World Championships this year. They had just gotten Sobie that week, and they didn’t know much about her. She is a weiner dog, but one of the calmest weiner dogs I have ever met. This was a point during that weekend where both my brother and his girlfriend went somewhere, and I was left with the dogs. Both of these two were just watching and waiting for either person to return. I just thought it was so cute that both of them were looking for their “parents”, and it made me laugh.
Another photo from the Lumberjack World Championships. I decided to start taking photos of any competitors, because I wanted to get some action shots of the saws and axes cutting through the wood. This is probably one of my favorites that I got from doing that. I purposefully tried to get only the saw and the wood, and I wanted to get the sawdust spray in their as well.
While I was at my friend’s cabin at Gull Lake, it always seemed to happen that I would be the first one awake in the mornings. I would feed my dog, take him outside, and then I decided to start wandering around the area with my cabin. This is one of the pots of flowers they had on the property, and I really love the red contrast against all of the greenery in the area. This same morning is where I got the picture of the ducks, that was in my last blog post. I got some other great shots too, but this was one of my favs. The photo that I used as the feature image was also from this morning.
Being in Lidgerwood all summer, got a little boring at times. I would go to work at the pool half way through the day, so I normally had to occupy my mornings with some activity. Tea is one of the many things I start my day with, and I was trying to get some cool shots of the steam coming off the cup. Unfortunately, none of those turned out. I like this one, however, because I didn’t realize you could see my reflection in the microwave until I was looking through these photos recently. That adds a little bit to this photo that wasn’t there when I was taking it. Gotta check your reflections!
My life has always been filled with dogs. Chief(left) and Mojo(right) are brothers. My aunt’s chihuahua had 4 puppies, and we got one, she kept one, my cousin got one, and the other was sold to someone that I do not know. Both of the parents have now passed on, but when my aunt came into town for my cousin’s wedding shower, I just had to get a shot of the brothers with their grandma(my aunt). I really love how this photo turned out, and now we need to get all three brothers together to get a nice family picture.
These two photos were taken last night while I was at home. I decided to light one of my candles, and I recently bought a bookshelf where I keep my records, and all of my growlers that I have purchased from various breweries. I saw the scene, and just instantly grabbed my camera. There are probably 50 of the same photo on my computer right now, but I has a certain idea of what I wanted the photo to look like, and it would only catch the light in a certain way every couple of photos. I did finally get two shots that I wanted to share. I have changed my header image on this blog, and that photo is the one on the bottom. I just love the dark and warm lighting that I achieved from the candle light.
And this one was taken this morning. This plant is green on the top of the leaf, and purple on the bottom, which is a very interesting plant in my mind. I was just playing around with my camera, and got this image. It took me a couple of tries to get the shot I wanted, but I did achieve what I wanted. I love how this one turned out.
Those are all of the photos I wanted to share with you! If you liked this type of blog post, please like this post, so I know to make more of these in the future. I love taking pictures, whether it is with my camera, or my iPhone. I also love sharing the photos I have enjoyed taking with others. Also, let me know in the comments which photo was your favorite! I hope you all have a great week, and I will talk to again on another Sunday!
